With RAUC, Pengutronix develops and maintains one of the leading fully open-source OTA update frameworks, serving as a critical backbone in both community projects and commerical products. We're committed to keeping RAUC completely open source, and thus without features that require additional licenses or lock-in to any specific backend services. This ensures long-term flexibility, transparency, and accessibility for all users.

While major new features are often introduced commercially by Pengutronix or contributed by the community, securing budgets for essential ongoing maintenance and general improvements is more challenging. Yet these efforts are crucial for RAUC’s long-term sustainability, ensuring continuous maintenance, improvements and robust security.

The purchase of a Sponsorship Package is a no-strings-attached way to directly support the RAUC project. Specifically, it allows us to dedicate more time to:
